McCOMBS, Elizabeth A. “Libby” (Mihok), 84, of North Fifth Street, Martins Ferry, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at her home.
She was born May 11, 1925, in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Palecko) Mihok.
Libby was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
At the age of 80, she married the love of her life, Spencer. They spent the next five years loving, laughing, dancing, working crossword puzzles and enjoying music every single day.
She was retired from the AARP Senior Employment Service. Libby was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, and the former VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Eagles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thornton Wheeler; a stepson, David Mc Combs; and a stepdaughter, Barbara Oravec.
Surviving are her husband, Spencer McCombs; four daughters, Lynn Wheeler Burton of Truth or Consequences, N.M., Donna (Daniel) Baron of Bloomington, Ind., Penny (Tom) Saucier of Springville, Ind. and Lisa Wheeler Lovell of Bloomington, Ind.; a stepson, Brent (Karen) McCombs of Houston, Texas; a stepdaughter, Patty (Don) Cline of Martins Ferry; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great- grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, April 28, 2010 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating.
