Don Hartley

HARTLEY, Don J., 77, of Glen Dale, W.Va., died Monday, July 12, 2010, in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.

He was born June 4, 1933 in Moundsville, W.Va., a son of the late Harry and Lola Conner Hartley.

Don was a member of Glen Dale United Methodist Church, and a retired employee of Olin Chemical, formerly Allied Chemical North Plant. He loved to fish, and was often seen at local lakes. He was an avid fan of the WVU Mountaineers and John Marshall Monarchs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean Coppack, Ruth Lusk and Doris Fletcher; four brothers, Paul and Harry Hartley, Beryl and Delbert Barcus.

Surviving are his wife and best friend of 53 years, Yvonne Olnick Hartley; his daughter, Michele (David) Gogolkiewicz; grandson, Ryker, his pride and joy, his little fishing buddy of Manassas, Va.; a sister, Kathaleen Stewart of Moundsville; two brothers, John and Robert Hartley, both of Moundsville.

Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 with Rev. Chris Arveson and Rev. Billy Ray Carpenter officiating.

Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
