Harry Coffman

COFFMAN, Harry L. “Mike,” 82, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Monday, June 20, 2011 at home.

He was born August 1, 1928 in Wheeling, a son of the late Thomas and Margaret Vogler Coffman.

Mike was a self- employed carpenter, and retired as the manager of the Glen Dale Drive-In.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly “Jean” Coffman; a son, Lawrence Coffman Sr.; two brothers, Thomas Ed Coffman Jr., and Kenneth L. Coffman; two sisters, Nancy and Joyce Coffman; and a dear friend, Della Dumich.

Surviving are five children, Linda Harmon (David) and Judi Bitzer (David), both of Wheeling, Butch (Harry) Coffman Jr. (Gloria) of Bellaire, Ohio, and Carolyn Schramm (David) and Nancy Wilson (Richard) both of Martins Ferry, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Stanley, Charles and Walter Coffman, all of Wheeling; two sisters, Georgia Hall of Wheeling, and Betty Lou Stamm of Nashport, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends received 1-8 p.m. Friday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 3828 Jacob St., Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 with Rev. Larry Wrenn officiating.

Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
