WHITE, Linda Lou, 63 of Plutus Ave., passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Weirton Medical Center following a brief illness.
Linda was born in Wheeling on July 18, 1947 and was a daughter of the late Robert J. St Myers and Mildred B. Johnson St Myers.
She taught school for 23 years in the Hancock County public school system and later worked for 10 years at the National Church Supply Company in Chester.
Linda was an active member of the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester where she enjoyed participating in the Ladies Work Day’s.
She graduated from Wheeling High School in 1965 and received her BA in Education from West Liberty College in 1969. Linda continued her education at West Virginia University where she earned her Master’s in Communications in 1985.
Survivors include four sisters, Lois Jean (and the late Raymond) Dougherty of Wheeling, Carol Lee (Dennis) Wright of Wheeling, Roberta Kay (Richard) Crain of Benwood, and Mary Beth (Thomas) Conner of Wheeling.
In addition four aunts, Lee Dusch of Warwood, Jewel Roman of Wheeling, Jackie Seidler of Wheeling, and Denise Gallagher of Michigan, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Evangelist Frank Higginbotham of the church will conduct services on Friday June 3 at 2 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where the family will be present to receive friends from noon until the time of the services. Private interment will be held at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell, W.Va.
