BEATTY, Alice Rose Pearl., 95, of Glen Dale, W.Va., died Monday, August 29, 2011 at home.
She was born May 25, 1916 in Benwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late William A. and Mary Alice Higgins Pearl.
Alice was a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale, and a member of the St. Jude Women’s Guild. For many years, she served as a volunteer at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert E. Beatty; a son, Robert J. Beatty; five brothers; two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas P. (Karen) Beatty of Virginia Beach, Va., James E. (Michelle) Beatty of Glen Dale and John F. (Shelly) Beatty of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three daughters, Mary P. (William) Ebbert of Clarkston, MI, Alice A. Mysliwiec of McMechen, W.Va., and Rita M. (Robert) DeMundo of Moundsville, W.Va.; a daughter-in-law, Suzan Beatty of Charlotte, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4-9 p.m. Friday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where a Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Stafford, T.O.R. as celebrant.
Entombment in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, Wheeling.
