DUNFEE, Alice Pauline, 80, of Powhatan Point, Ohio, died Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, West Virginia.
She was born November 4, 1931, in Powhatan Point, Ohio, a daughter of the late Carl L. and Esther Sailer Dunfee.
Alice was retired from the North American Coal Corporation and was also a former long time employee of the Antalis Clinic. She was a lifetime member of the Powhatan First Presbyterian Church where she served in various church capacities.
She bravely fought Multiple Sclerosis for twenty years with dignity, grace and humor.
Alice is survived by her sister and long term caregiver who was lovingly and devoted during her sister’s twenty year battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Eleanor Eileen Dunfee; a special surrogate daughter, Pamela Stottlemyer Hartley and her husband, Ronald L. Hartley, of Bellaire, Ohio, and surrogate grandsons, who affectionately called her “Harby,” Nicholas (Christy) Hartley of Columbus, Ohio and Adam (Natasha) Hartley of Shadyside, Ohio; her beloved caregiver, Mary L. (Sammy) Baker of Powhatan Point, Ohio; and many loving cousins.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauk necht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 186 Main Street, Powhatan Point, Ohio, on Thursday from 2-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. with Reverend Gregory Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
