Norman Taylor

TAYLOR, Norman E., 87, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 in Belmont Community Hospital Bellaire, Ohio.

Norman was born October 2, 1924 in Georgetown, Ohio a son of the late Luther E. and Sloma Esther Tice Taylor.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation former Benwood Mill, a Protestant by faith, a member of Eagles Lodge #371, VFW Post #626 and DAV Post #117 all of Bellaire, the Shadyside American Legion Post #521 and was an Army Veteran of WWII.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife, Betty Crall Taylor on March 28, 1997; a daughter, Melinda L. Thayer; and a grandson, Brian Taylor.

Surviving are two sons, Luther T. “Pete” (Charlotte Stout) Taylor of Rayland, Ohio, and Norman A. (Melissa) Taylor of Bellaire, Ohio; a daughter with whom he shared his home, Esther L. (Ernest “Eddie”) Williams of Shadyside, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Larry Helms officiating.

Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

The Belmont County Council of the Veterans of Foreign War will conduct full Military Honor’s at 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the funereal home.
