CRABTREE, Jody L., 50, of Wheeling, W.Va., and formerly of Panther, W.Va., died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian, in Pittsburgh, Pa., surrounded by his family.
He was born July 12, 1962, in Welch, W.Va., a son of Bessie (Collins) Crabtree of Panther, W.Va., and the late Dempsey Wayne Crabtree.
Jody was Baptist by faith. He was employed at the Altmeyer Funeral Home in Wheeling, and was a former coal truck owner and operator.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dempsey Wayne Crabtree Jr.; one nephew, Charles Anthony “Chuck” Sisk; and one brother-in-law, Douglas Collins.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Coleman and her husband, Doug of Panther, W.Va., and Jodi Nicole McCoy and her husband, Andy of Mebane, N.C.; one brother, Charles “Butch” Sisk, of Princeton, W.Va.; five sisters, Darlene Woodson and her husband, Jim of Atherton, Calif., Gail Roberts and her husband, Ronald of Panther, W.Va., Deborah Lamp of Hilton Head, S.C., Tammy Leo and her husband, Mike of Wheeling, W.Va., and Hope Fahey and her husband, Gene of Wheeling, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Kaegan Coleman, and Jace Coleman; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, South Wheeling Chapel, 3828 Jacob St., Wheeling, W.Va. with Msgr. Kevin M. Quirk officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Crabtree Family Cemetery, Greenbrier Road, Panther, W.Va.
