NAMLIK, Anthony “Tony” L., 91, of Wheeling, WV, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Peterson Rehabilitation Center.
He was born June 13, 1921 in Coal Center, PA a son to the late Joseph and Mary (Vinter) Namlik. He was Catholic by Faith, and was retired from the Blaw-Knox Foundry & Mill Machinery Inc., in Wheeling. He was a member of the VFW 4442 in Wheeling and the American Legion Post 1 in Wheeling. Tony served as a machine gunner in the U.S. Army during the Battle of the Bulge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Kuca) Namlik, three brothers, Joseph, Adolph, and Leo Namlik, and two sisters, Ann Nolte and Tina Carcione.
Tony is survived by several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and long time friend, Mike Gemensky.
Friends will be received on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, with Rev. Jeremiah McSweeney officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
