ROHRIG, Frederick M., 91, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Hubbard Hospice House.
The son of the late Ossie Loran and Oliver H. Rohrig, he was born August 18, 1921 on Campbell’s Creek. After graduating from Malden High School, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-17 pilot. He worked at DuPont in Belle as a metallurgist, retiring after 42 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Shepard Rohrig, in 1993; two brothers, Adam C. Rohrig, and Dale B. Rohrig; one sister, June Rohrig Shannon; and one grandson, Austin Jennings Rohrig.
He is survived by four sons, Frederick M. Dean (Mary) Rohrig of Middlebourne, W.Va.; John Austin Oliver Rohrig of Charleston; Charles Von Alan (Kimberly) Rohrig of Huntington, W.Va.; and Eric Lee Blake (Dawne) Rohrig of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren, Brian Frederick Rohrig of Denver, Colorado; Bethany Leigh Rohrig of Middlebourne, W.Va.; Justin Cody Rohrig and Jackson Von Rohrig, both of Huntington, W.Va.; and Rebekah Elizabeth Rohrig, Samuel Joseph Rohrig and Deborah Victoria Rohrig, all of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Nancy Rohrig Williams of Hurricane, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 420 Lee St. West, Charleston with service to be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
