IRVIN, Janet M., 77, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012.
She was born January 30, 1935 in Wellsburg, WV to the late Virginia and Elmer Atwell. She was a kindergarten teacher for many years, first at the Wellsburg Episcopal Church, and then later worked for the Brooke County School System as a kindergarten aide. She was a member of the Wellsburg Garden Club, the Civic League, and a member of the Wellsburg Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two of her sisters, Joan Atwell Megahan and Jean Atwell Koscevic.
Janet is survived by her husband of 57 years, Russell Irvin. She is the loving mother of Deborah McCarthy, Rusty Irvin, Janice Shaffer, and Richard Irvin. Mother-in-law to Kevin McCarthy, David Shaffer, and Cecelia Cipriani Irvin. Janet was the Nanny of 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth Shaffer Oliver, Jennifer Shaffer, Patrick McCarthy, Erica Shaffer, Eric McCarthy, Nicholas Irvin, Claire Shaffer, Sarah Irvin, Alison Irvin, and Robert Irvin. She is the big Nanny to Carter and Scarlett Oliver. She will be missed by her other two sisters, Joyce Atwell Mudrovich of Indiana, and June Atwell Music of Wellsburg.
Viewing will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles St., Wellsburg where funeral services and Christian Burial will be on Tuesday at l p.m. with pastor Aaron Miller officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg.
