SCHULTZ, Norene A. Paugh Burley, age 96, formerly of New Martinsville, WV, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Judge’s Personal Care Home, Middlebourne, WV.
She was born on December 20, 1915 in Gilmer County, WV, a daughter of the late Alvin D. and Sudie Wiant Paugh.
Norene was the first sales lady at the former Bridgeman Brothers Ford Motor Company, New Martinsville, and a member of the former St. John’s United Methodist Church, New Martinsville. She was known for her baking, especially her homemade noodles and pies, and was an avid bridge player.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lindsey Burley; second husband, Thomas J. Schultz; one daughter, Evelyn Burley Mylar; two grandsons, T. Janson Isaacs and John Lindsey Markey; three sisters, Garnett Corley, Genevieve Frazier and Beulah McWhorter; two brothers, Hunter Paugh and Dencil Paugh.
Survivors include, two daughters: Jane Ann (Paul) Magruder of Sistersville, WV and Linda Burley Markey of Berwick, Maine; six grandchildren: Julie (Greg) Markey Knoettner of York, Maine, Kate (Chris) Markey Russell of Old Forge, NY, Brian (Zita) Mylar of San Antonio, TX, Steven (Ginger) Mylar of Shreveport, LA, Jason (Chris) Isaacs of Parkersburg, WV and Justin Isaacs of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 12 great-grandchildren; four half-sisters: Mrs. Wilodene Nelson, Mrs. Ruth Semerad and Mrs. June Keene, all of Michigan and Mrs. Ava Metheney of WV; three half-brothers: Roscoe Paugh of Illinois, James Paugh and Lonnie Paugh both of WV.
The family would like to give special thanks to Viola Judge and family for their loving care throughout her illness.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Norene’s Life will be held at a later date at the Grisell Funeral Home, 751 Third St., New Martinsville, WV.
