Robert Porter

PORTER, Robert Brandon “Brandy,” 60, of Adena, Ohio, and formerly of Moundsville, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.

He was born August 16, 1952, in Wheeling W.Va., a son to Roger and Dolores (Freyler) Porter.

He attended the Cornerstone Church of God in Moundsville. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, a wonderful son and brother, a coal miner, and a great friend to many. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and taking his daughter to horse shows. His daughter was the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Porter, his loving fiancee, Rebecca Thomas, who was the mother to his youngest daughter still at home, Sierra Porter, his sister, Sherry L. Porter, his paternal grandparents, Arthur D. and Camille Porter, his maternal grandparents, William “Gus” and Edna (Boone) Freyler, and his uncle, David Porter.

He is survived by his mother, Dolores “Dee” Porter, three daughters, Julie (Michael) Anderson, Amy (Marcus) Porter, and Sierra Porter; one step daughter, Tabitha Thomas; one brother, Gary L. (Rhonda) Porter Sr.; one sister, Lisa (Kevin) Orlofske; five grandchildren, Brianna, Khai, Brayden, Cooper, and Claire; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Candy Kercher.

Friends will be received Sunday, November 18, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday, November 19, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes and Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, W.Va. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
