WIZBA, Albert J., 89, a loving and devoted father and grandfather, of Shadyside, OH, died Tuesday December 4, 2012, in St. Clairsville, OH.
Al was born August 4, 1923, in Shadyside, OH, a son of the late Charles and Mary Dugas Wizba.
He was a retired Chief Marine Engineer from Dravo-Mechling Corp., Pittsburgh, PA, a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #521 all of Shadyside, OH. He was a WWII Navy Veteran.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Pauline Williams Wizba in 1989; a son, Frederic C. Wizba in 2010; three brothers; Charles Wizba, Joseph E. Wizba and infant Patrick Wizba; three sisters, Mary Oravec, Margaret “Peggy” Wizba and Helen Palmer.
Surviving are his wife Lydia Krupnik Wizba; a daughter, Kathy (Tom) King of St Clairsville, OH; granddaughters Alaire (Barry) Mancz, Ellie King and Lexie King; and two great-granddaughters, Emelia Mancz and Eden King; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Wizba of Wheeling, WV; and three granddaughters Sara Griffin, Annie Wizba and Emily Wizba; three step-daughters Mary Ellen (Cecil) Davis of Overland Park, KS, Theresa (Jim) Mowery of Shadyside, OH, and Patty (John) Modra of Powhatan Point, OH.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, OH, Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be at 11 a.m. in St Mary Catholic Church Shadyside, Ohio with Fr. Samuel Saprano as Celebrant.
Interment follows in Powhatan Cemetery Powhatan Point, Ohio.
