BOWEN, Geneva Ann, formerly Geneva A. Finnegan, 88, passed away on November 30, 2012.
She was born in Moundsville, WV, to the late Anthony Dragovich and Domicilia Ornatowski Dragovich. She was the widow of Roy K. Bowen.
Mrs. Bowen is survived by daughter Patricia Masters of Norfolk, VA; two grandchildren, Todd A. Masers of Manchester-by-the Sea, MA and Jill A. Rogers of Alexandria, VA; sister Kitty Ackermann of Wheeling, WV, and brother and sister-in-law Joe and Toni Dragovich of Conway, SC; five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Harrison and Bowen Rogers and Claire and Nicholas Masters; and nieces and nephews Joe Betras, Nanette Golden and Michelle Dragovich.
Mrs. Bowen worked in sales at Reichart Furniture Store in Wheeling for many years prior to moving to the Sistersville area. After retirement, she became very active with her husband, Roy, in service to the Lions Club of Sistersville, including serving as its President for three years. She was a member of the Altar Guild of Holy Rosary Church and a former member of Sistersville Women’s Club. Mrs. Bowen was always ready to help others in projects to benefit the community. Her enthusiasm was known by all and she was loved by many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Jim McCafferty and Deacon Rod Fagert officiating. Visitation will be held at Myers Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 1-4 with rosary devotions at 4 and with the wake service at 4:30 p.m. Interment will be at Paden Memorial Gardens.
