CORNISH, Gerald R. Sr., 88, of Richmond, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.
He was born April 9, 1924, in Uniontown, PA, a son of the late Lawrence Raymond and Mary Theresa Dunlevy Cornish.
He is the last of five boys, having been preceded in death by brothers Lawrence, Jimmy, Robert and Ken. His wife, Georgetta (Koser) Cornish, passed away in 2000.
He was the owner/operator of Cornish Heating and Cooling until his retirement. In his earlier years, Jerry was active as a bowler, square dancer, golfer and enjoyed card clubs and various clubs and organizations. He was Catholic by faith.
He is survived by four sons, Gerald “Jerry” Cornish Jr. and Gloria Boley of Toronto, Terry and Luann Cornish of Adena, Doug and Carol Cornish of Richmond and Jeff Cornish of Wintersville; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Road, Wintersville, Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral liturgy at the funeral home at noon. Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
