RUSH, Marguerite K., of Wheeling, WV, passed into heaven on December 14, 2012, at the age of 76.
Marguerite graduated with a bachelors degree in music education from West Liberty State College.
She was a violinist in the Wheeling Symphony for 35 years and taught private violin lessons for over 40 years. She taught Suzuki violin, including classical violin and bluegrass fiddle. She was a music teacher in both public and private schools.
She was born April 25, 1936 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Emilyn Thoner.
In addition to her parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by her uncle, Dr. John G. Thoner.
She is survived by her son and daughter, John V. Rush of Tennessee and Carol M. Rush of Wheeling; her sisters, Amalia C. Picchi of Wheeling and Marie Emilyn Straka of Georgia; her nieces, Antoinette M. Picchi Sivert of Wheeling and Roberta M. Straka Connolly of Georgia; her nephews, Thomas J. Picchi and Robert Eric Straka of Georgia; her former husband, Victor W. Rush; and her loving cat, Woodee.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m, Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. Raju Antony as celebrant. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
