FINNEY, Carl A., 74, of 331 Guilford Ave., Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in Woodsfield, Ohio.
He was born in Yorkville, Ohio, on May 28, 1938, a son of the late Bernard and Hilda Fry Finney.
Carl was a graduate of Yorkville High School, Yorkville, Ohio. He was a retired mine foreman for American Electric Power and North American Coal Company; a former meat cutter at Riesbeck’s Food Markets Inc., Woodsfield, Ohio; a member of the First United Methodist Church, Woodsfield, Ohio; a United States Army veteran; and a member of Monroe Lodge #189, F. & A.M., Woodsfield, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Birdie D. Carducci Finney, on February 11, 2009; a brother, Herbert Finney; and a sister, Ruth Ullom.
Surviving are twin daughters Lori (Tony) Fuller of Dublin, Ohio, and Lisa (Doug) Hartshorn of Newark, Ohio; one son, Greg (Vanessa) Finney of West Haven, Utah; one sister, Sharon Leeper of Eaton, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Taylor and Seth Fuller, Grace and Jaclyn Hartshorn, Nicole and Christopher Finney and Ashley (Dale) Krall; one great-grandson, Lukas Krall; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday with Pastor David Hull-Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
