DeTEMPLE, Edward F., 94, of Wheeling, WV, died Friday, January 25, 2013.
He was born October 11, 1918, in Benwood, WV, a son of the late Francis and Mary Kelly DeTemple.
He was retired from the Ormet Corp., a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, an Army veteran of WWII and a Lifetime Member of the American Legion, VFW and United Steelworkers Local #1091.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lambus DeTemple; three brothers, Bernard, Francis and Robert DeTemple; two sisters, Mary Jane Oram and Elizabeth Hendershot.
Surviving are three children, Ron (Susan) DeTemple of Huntington, WV, Gary DeTemple of Wheeling, Judy (Neil) Cornell of O’Fallon, IL; seven grandchildren, Jill (Gordon) O’Brien, Karen DeTemple, Michael (Julie) DeTemple, Rebecca Barnes, Emily Barnes DeTemple, Ryan Cornell and Katelyn Cornell; four great-grandchildren, Kate, Ali, Nate and Jenna; several nieces and nephews; and a very loving friend, Marie St. Clair.
Friends received 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, where Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, with Rev. Frank O’Kruta as celebrant.
Interment with military honors in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
