KANNER, John W. “Wade” Jr., age 74, of Clarington, Ohio, died Thursday, January 17, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 29, 1938, in Clarington, the son of the late Johnnie Waid Sr. and Juanita Thomas Kanner.
Wade was a former clerk at Ormet Corporation; former coal miner at No. 7 mine; and an insurance sales agent. He was a member and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #597 F. & A.M., Clarington; member of Past Masters Association, 18th Masonic District; Scottish Rite; Order of Ohio Eastern Star Chapter 533, Clarington; Shriners; the American Legion in Shadyside, Ohio; a life member of Moose Lodge #931, New Martinsville, WV, and a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte Monahan; and an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Monahan Kanner; three daughters, Carla Rice of Dunedin, FL, H. Michelle Drake of Wauconda, IL and Jody Kanner of Moundsville, WV; a brother, Philip Kanner of Caldwell, Ohio; three grandsons, Jacob Rice, Austin Drake and Dylan Drake; a granddaughter, Katherine Rice; and two great-grandchildren, Dakota Rosser and Izak Pedersen.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington, with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. and where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating.
Interment to follow in Clarington Cemetery.
