NANNY, Lynne Clarke, 68, of Wheeling, passed away Friday, February 1, 2013.
She was born June 6, 1944 in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Russell and Gene Marie Clarke.
Lynne was a life long resident of Wheeling. She will always be remembered for her endearing love for her family and friends. Lynne thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of all flowers and plants and shared this love with many. She had a kind spirit and will be remembered warmly by everyone she touched. Lynne was a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Education. She had a successful career as a manager at the Oglebay Park Garden Center, United Bank, and finished her working life at Cabelas. Lynne had a love for animals and was an avid supporter of SPCA. She was a Presbyterian by faith.
Lynne is survived by a daughter, Kelly Wilson and her husband, Mike of Germantown, MD; a son, Jeff Yoakum and his wife, Gwynne of Gainesville, VA; two step-daughters, Beth Nanny Glass, and Susan Paul. “Nana’s” heart was also with her beloved grandchildren, Loren Yoakum, Christopher Yoakum, Taylor Wilson, Jenna Lather, and Christa Gerken; her twin sister, Claire Hall; her brother, Bruce Clarke; cousins, Karen Grisell, Susan and Bill Vieweg, Clarke and Elayne Ridgway; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 12-3 and 5-7 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd., Wheeling (304-232-2732). Friends will also be received Monday, February 4, 2013 from 9:30 until time of service at 11 a.m. at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church, 905 National Rd., Wheeling, WV, with Rev Dr. Charles D. LaPlaca officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery will follow the services.
