SPURLIN, Mildred L., 85, of Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
She was born November 27, 1927 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late William James and Ethel May Driehorst McFarland.
She was a retired Social Worker for the West Virginia Department of Welfare and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Wheeling, actively sharing the Bible’s teachings with her neighbors. She was generous in spreading joy as was exemplified by her giving many of her original paintings to friends and acquaintances.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William James “Billy” McFarland; two sisters, Grace McFarland and Eleanor Atkinson.
She is survived by her son, William Spurlin of England.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2090 Angle Avenue, Elm Grove, Wheeling WV.
