MORRIS, Robert “Bob” D., 80, of Proctor, WV, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV.
“Bob” was born March 11, 1932, in Moundsville, WV, son of the late Atlee Glenn and Mary Etta Rice Morris.
He attended West Liberty College and WVU, retired after 35 years in the research department at Mobay Chemical, loved gardening, hunting, woodworking and being with his family and a member of the Steelton Church of Christ where he served as an Elder and Treasurer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Mason Morris, and sister, Edith Jean Tyler.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Joyce Kay Rabel Morris; four children, Dr. Robert (Marcia) Morris of New Martinsville, WV, Rick (Andrea) Shade of Richmond, KY, Kim Edman of Houston, TX and Jeffrey Shade of New Martinsville, WV; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Chris) Dean, Whitney Wilson, Lindsey (Zack) McKay, Hanna Wilson, Lincoln Shade, Logan Shade and Soren Shade; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Emma Dean; sister, Katie (Sam) Williams of Norfolk, VA; two brothers, Dr. Roger (Mary Ann) Morris of Ashley, MI and Ronald (Connie) Morris of Glen Dale, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV, where service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, with Rick Shade and Ed Melott co-officiating.
Interment in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
