LANCH, Betty J., 84, of Reservoir Road, St. Clairsville, formerly of Kirkwood Heights, Bridgeport, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Forest Hill Retirement Complex, St. Clairsville.
She was born May 29, 1928 in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Nellie J (Strawser) Bowers.
She was a member of the Meadowbrook Church of God, Rayland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Bertha McKnight and Nellie Thompson; and brothers Elmer and Isaac Thomas.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Francis “Frank” Lanch; son David (Debbie) Lanch of Martins Ferry; a daughter, Tina Papp of New Philadelphia; a sister, Dee (Paul) Kreiter of St. Clairsville; a niece, Gail McLain of St. Clairsville; nine grandchildren: Courtney, Jennifer, Vinnie, Jason, Taelin, Elijah, Chance, Jeremy, and Kami; seven great-grandchildren: Dawson, Douglas, Gabriel, Malcayla, Alexander, Johnathan, and Akira.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Betty’s life on Wednesday March 20, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, and then on Thursday from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Marvin Schooler officiating. Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
