Cheryl Burke

BURKE, Cheryl L. Saseen, 47, of Wheeling, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling.

She was born April 1, 1965 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Louis J. Saseen.

Cheryl was formerly employed by Family Services and later the Wheeling Housing Authority as a social worker, was a member of Elm Grove United Methodist Church and performed at Towngate Theatre and participated in the local Murder Mysteries at various restaurants.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Emily Lou Seth Saseen; her husband, John Burke; two children, Isaac and Emily Stephens both at home; three stepchildren, James Burke and his wife Andrea of Benwood, Joshua Burke and his wife Amanda of Wheeling, Jenna Burke of Wheeling; two brothers, Chris Saseen and his wife Maggie, Mark Saseen and his wife Allison, both of Wheeling; several nieces and nephews; several step-grandchildren, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Cheryl’s family would like to thank the employees of the Schiffler Cancer Center and Liza’s Place. They were truly the angels that looked over Cheryl.

Friends will be received on Sunday, March 31, 2013 from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April1, 2013 in the Elm Grove United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bryan Carpenter officiating.

Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Health Right or to Liza’s Place.
