STREET, Jessie Ralph “Shorty,” 90, of Armstrongs Mills, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Monroe County Care Center in Woodsfield, Ohio.
He was born December 22, 1922, in Key, Ohio, a son of the late Charles Ross Street and Elsie Marie Haught Street.
Shorty was a retired employee of Ohio Ferro Alloy, a former Washington Township Trustee, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and member of the Glencoe American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Marie Saffell Street; a son, Jessie Ralph Street, Jr.; a brother, Ben Street; sisters, Betty McMahon and Faye Keyser.
Surviving are a son, Ronald James “Jim” Street and his wife, Debbie of Alledonia; a daughter, Beverly Gallaher and her husband, Jeff of Woodsfield; brother, Lawrence “Sonny” Street of Key; sister, Norma Street of Shadyside; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial follows in Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills, Ohio.
The Belmont County Council of American Legions will provide full military honors at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
