CREBS-MAGIS, Nettie L. passed away March 4, 2013, in Venice, Fla., at the age of 97.
She was born on January 18, 1916 in Benwood, WV, a daughter of the late Niles Crebs and Jessie Cunningham-Crebs.
Mrs. Magis received her education at Union High School, graduating in 1937. She worked at the city restaurant in Bellaire until her marriage in November 1940 to Russell Magis of Bellaire, OH. As her husband served in WWII, Nettie began raising a family. She continued to support her husband throughout her life.
Together they ran a general store called “Sado’s” at Seneca Lake and a home building business in Cambridge, Ohio. After retirement in 1975, Nettie and Russell enjoyed life on their farm in Cambridge.
They spent winters vacationing on the Gulf of Mexico and spending time with their family and friends.
She spent that last ten years of her life living in the lap of luxury with her daughter and best friend, Rebecca Nye, in Rotonda West, Fl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, of 67 years; her sons, James Joseph Magis and Thomas Richard Magis; her grandson, Richard Neff; and her sister, Geneva Markowicz.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Rebecca M. Nye of Rotonda West, Fl.; daughter-in-law, Trenna Magis of Cambridge; grandchildren, Michael J. (Sylvia) Magis of Cambridge, Tina M. (Gary) Hoffman of New Concord and Catherine A. (Shawn) Menz of Pickerington; and great-grandchildren, Kelby Thomas Gibson, Gary Gene Hoffman III, Michael Richard Magis and Thomas James Magis.
Friends received 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling.
Interment and graveside services will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire.
