WOOD, Robert L. “Bob”, of Wheeling, WV, passed away March 16, 2013, after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma.
Surviving are his wife, Candice Miller Wood; three children, Michelle Ilovar (Doug), Kelly Gaudio (Paul), and Thomas Wood (Lisa); three grand children, Christian Gaudio, Noah Ilovar, and Katelyn Wood; and several step grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service, April 5, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Grand Vue Park Banquet Hall, Moundsville WV.
Memorial contributions may be made to Middle Grave Creek Church of God, building fund, 3185 Middle Grave Creek Road, Moundsville WV 26041.

WOOD, Robert L. “Bob,” 68, of Wheeling, W.Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 16, 2013 after a courageous battle with pleural mesothelioma. He was born December 11, 1944, in Wheeling, a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Shafer Wood.
Surviving are his loving wife and soul mate, Candi Miller Wood; beloved children Michelle Wood Ilovar (Doug), Kelly Wood Gaudio (Paul) and Thomas Wood (Lisa); grandchildren Chris Gaudio, Noah Ilovar, Katie Wood and Brea Delbert; sisters, Nancy Plants and Mary Lou Hardman; a brother, Thomas Wood; nieces, nephews and many friends and his faithful dogs; Max, Lilly and Angel.
Bob lived life to its fullest and his infectious laughter will be missed by all. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966 at a ship fitter on the Willis A. Lee DL4. Upon leaving the Navy he became a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitter Local #83 in Wheeling, retiring in 2007. Bob was a born again Christian and a member of Middle Grave Creek Church of God, Moundsville, W.Va.
As per Bob’s request there will be no visitation and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
