Stanley Hayes

HAYES, Stanley N., 75, of Paden City, WV, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, WV.

Stanley was born October 11, 1937 in Paden City, WV, son of the late Thomas N. and Evelyn Slider Hayes.

He was retired serviceman from Verizon Phone Company, a U.S. Army Reserve veteran who served during the Germany Crisis, loved sports, graduate of Paden City High School Class of 1956, and supplied sound equipment for all Wildcat games.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashlynn Poole; sister, Donna Buck and an infant brother, Larry Hayes.

Surviving are his wife, of 54 years, Lois Paxson Hayes; two sons, Stephen (Tammy) Hayes of Midlothian, VA and Matthew (Joann Brech) Hayes of Stephens City, VA; two daughters, Julie Dillie of Richmond, VA and Ann (Les) Drake of Paden City, WV; five grandchildren, Jessica Schoolcraft, Jason Dillie, Mackenzie Drake, Wesley Drake and Jordan Brea Kirsten Poole; he was expecting his first great- granddaughter; three brothers, Tracy (Sue) Hayes of Paden City, WV, Rick (Mary Etta) Hayes of Middlebourne, WV and Thomas (Deb) Hayes of Sistersville, WV; one sister, Penny (Dave) Ludolph-Pinnick of Paden City, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City, WV with Pastor Judy Vetter officiating.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
