FOUCHS, Sr., Walter Ray, 76, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away February 28, 2013 at his residence.
Walter was born June 6, 1936 in New Martinsville, WV, son of the late Shirley N. and Effie M. Billiter Fuchs.
He graduated from Paden City High School in 1954 and Marietta College in 1955. He was employed by Conalco Corp for 38 years and Witschey’s Market for one year. He was an avid farmer, hunter, fisherman and craftsman. He was a Christian by faith and a member of the Paden Fork Chapel Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Russell Fuchs; two sisters, Doris Hunter and Betty Evans and grandson, Gabriel I. Lynch.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy L. Fouchs; two sons, Walter R. (Kay) Fouchs of Paden City, WV and Donald (Karen) Fouchs of New Martinsville, WV; two daughters, Joanie Spencer of Milesburg, PA and Barbara (Mike) Lynch of Friendly, WV; one sister-in-law, Emma Fuchs of Paden City, WV; eight grandchildren; special companion “Tippy” and several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes in Paden City where service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 with Dale Dudgeon officiating.
Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens, New Martinsville, WV.
