GATTS, Benjamin Franklin, 83, of Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 in Wheeling Hospital. He was born January 6, 1930 in Sand Hill, WV, a son of the late Lorrie and Emma Gatts.
Mr. Gatts was a retired truck driver with 7-Up Bottling Co.; a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Methodist by faith. He enjoyed dealing with horses and his ttack shop.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Oliver Gatts.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis J. Ewing Gatts; three daughters, Linda L. (Delbert) Gray of Moundsville, Gayla D. (Michael) Daoust of Fairmont, WV and Marsha K. (Jim) Tuchek of Greensville, PA; a step-son, John Clarkson of Pine Hill, WV; six grandchildren, Norman Lee (Theresa) Fonner, Cindie and Justin McGlumphy, Matt and Jeremy Channelle, and Cody Tuchek; five great-grandchildren, Troy and Andrew Fonner, Justin, Jr., Rylee and Jake McGlumphy; three step-grandsons, John, Jr., Brandon and Sean Clarkson; two brothers, Art Gatts of Claysville PA and Carl Gatts of Mercer, PA; three sisters, Evelyn Hopper of St. Francis, MN, Dorothy Leffel of Aurora, NC and Shirley (Randy) Crouch of Burlington, KY; many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation or service. Entombment will be private in Halycon Hills Mausoleum, Sherrard, WV.
