KISSNER, Sgt. Richard D., 66, of Paden City, WV, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at New Martinsville Center.
Richard was born December 18, 1946 in Akron, OH, son of the late Paul and Zada Wilson Kissner.
He was a police officer with the St. Mary’s Police Dept, U.S. Army National Guard, loved woodworking, watching movies and playing with his dog, Vegas and he was a Christian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Jimmy Kissner and brother-in-law and lifetime friend, Skip Armstrong.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Carol Kissner; two brothers, Paul (Debbie) Kissner of Canton, OH and Allen Kissner of Jupiter, FL; sister, Jan Armstrong of Canton, OH; in-laws, Bob and Ida Mae Bonner and Dick and Gladys Wright; brother-in-law, Richard (Diann) Wright; special nephews, Chase, Dave, Scott (Carrie), Chad and Ricky; special nieces, Jessica, Stacie, Ali and Ashley; great niece and nephew, Alexis and Tristan and two sons and three wonderful grandchildren whom he loved very much and several other special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes in Paden City where service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 with Pastor Mark Tennant officiating.
Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens, New Martinsville, WV.
A graveside salute, from his fellow police officers, will be given to Sgt. Richard Kissner.
