HOWE, George Elwood, age 83, of Moundsville died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.

He was born September 15, 1929 in Marshall County, the son of the late Hubert Blaine and Nona Eleanor Smith Howe.

George was a retired pipe cutter from Triangle PWC, Glen Dale, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Moundsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ethel Faye Rine Howe; one son: Gregory E. (Suelynn) Howe of Moundsville; one daughter: Jana Patricia (Franklin) Bittner of Sioux Falls, SD; one grandson: Geoffrey Eric Howe of Moundsville and his fiancee Caity Battista; three granddaughters: Kendrick Michaela Hulse of Roberts, WI and Devyn Nicole Hulse both of Sioux Falls, SD and Erin Alcorn of Pittsburgh, PA; three brothers: Russell “Bud” (Eileen) Howe of Moundsville, Ronald (Nancy) Howe of Moundsville and Dale Howe of Proctor; three sisters: Helena Hubbs of Moundsville, Ella Bea (Ralph) Chaplin of Proctor and Joann (Elmer) Wellman of Easley, SC; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sara Lamb and Pastor Paul Smith officiating.

Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
