BELTRAME, Louis, 92, of Wellsburg, WV, passed peacefully away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Louis was born on July 12, 1920, in Louise, WV. He was the son of the late Oscar and Mary (Franceschina) Beltrame.
Louis served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during WWII. He was part of the 503rd Quartermaster Car Company and received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Ribbon, American Theater Service Ribbon, and World War II Victory Ribbon.
Louis was Episcopalian by Denomination. He loved and worked to help maintain Olde St. John’s Episcopal Church during his younger years. Louis was a member of the VFW and Follansbee Garibaldi Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and baseball, but most of all he loved his family.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his dear wife of 55 years, Mercia T. (Campbell) Beltrame in 2002; three brothers and a sister, Tony, Angelo, Pete, and Madeline.
Louis is survived by his loving daughter, Karen (Louie Jr.) Serafine of Colliers; four grandchildren, Michelle Marquis of The Virgin Islands, Nicole (Shannon) Murphy of Wadsworth, OH, Mikel (Nicole) Serafine of Weirton, WV and Marla (Ryan) Blake of Wheeling, WV; six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jonathan, Nicolas, Gianna, Gabriella, and Giulana; a sister, Isabelle Bullock of Follansbee, WV, his furry faithful companion, Chewy the dog, several nieces and nephews and the B.K. gang.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV, (304) 527-1717 with Reverend Gene Sheppard officiating.
Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery with Military Honors by Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
