LOHR, Melva “Mae” Milliken, 76, of West Finley, Pa., passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, in the Mound View Health Care, Moundsville, WV.
She was born in Majorsville, WV, on August 21, 1936, daughter of the late Fogle and Beulah Bertha Mae Whiteman Miliken.
Melva was a former member of the Salem United Methodist Church until it closed and than became a member of the Sand Hill United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Moundsville, WV, a lifetime member of the PTA. Melva enjoyed spending time with family, baking, and helping others.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Milliken; two sisters, Irma Jean Vorhes and Katherine Bowman.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Vance Lohr, whom she married on January 26, 1955; her daughter, Debra Sue (Danny) Dorsey of Dallas, WV; brother, Glen Milliken of Dallas, WV; two sisters, Mary Ellen Leoni and Ginny Morgan both of Follansbee, WV; grandchildren, Tammy (John) Huff, Carrie (Billy) Riggle, Vince (Alisha) Junkins and Ashley Dorsey all of Dallas, WV, and great-grandchildren, Dalton, Tess, Brianna, Kieremy and George. Also surviving are step-grandchildren, Connie (Jake) Bloom and Brandon Dorsey; step-great-grandchildren, Nash and Harlen.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (304.242.2311), where services will be held on Saturday 1 p.m with the Pastor Cindy Murphy officiating.
Interment Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, WV.
