SOVICH, Nettie Mae, 86 of Benwood, W.Va., died Sunday May 26, 2013 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va.
She was born January 15, 1927 in Weston, W,Va., a daughter of the late Haywood and Myrtle Taylor King. She was a retired social worker for the West Department of Health and Human Resources and a member of the Pleasant Hills United Methodist Church, Sherrard, W.Va., where she was a member of the Women’s Society. Nettie was a twenty year Red Cross volunteer, a member of the Triple States Radio Amateur Club, a member of the office of the Emergency Services of Marshall County, and a past Vice President of the Ft. Clarke Association.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her partner of forty-five years Richard Wnek, a sister Helen Miller, two brothers, Ralph and Howard King, a half-sister Betty Robinson, and two grandchildren, Sean Wycherley and Doni Nickerson.
Surviving are two daughters, Penny Calmbacher of Benwood, W.Va., and Jackie Nickerson and her significant other Randy Ring of Jacobsburg, Ohio, two brothers Charles King of Weston and Donald King of New Jersey, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel 118 Grant Ave Moundsville, W.Va. where services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday May 29, 2013 with Amedisys Hospice Chaplin, Thomas Mathes officiating. Interment in Halycon Hills Memorial Park Sherrard.
