HARRIGAN, Richard E. “Red,” 75, of Clarington, Ohio died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born February 27, 1938, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Samuel and Minnie St. John Harrigan.
Red was a retired employee of the Ormet Corporation in Hannibal, Ohio with 41 years of service; a member of the Powhatan Church of the Narazene; the Bellaire Eagles FOE 371; and a U.S. Army veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman who possessed a love for weedeating.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, John, Ronald, Dave and Butch Harrigan.
Surviving are his wife, Marsha Holt Harrigan; four children, James (Rebecca) Harrigan of Sardis, Ohio, Cindy (Sydney) Gallagher of Sandusky, Ohio, Sam (Nonita) Harrigan of Bastrop, Texas and Melinda (Jimmy) Adams of Republic, Ohio; two step-daughters, Sabrina (Mark) Morrison of Eagle Lake, Florida and Stephanie (Jason) Marks of Winter Haven, Florida; and one sister, Sandy Doty of Orrville, Ohio. Also nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 186 Main Street, Powhatan Point, Ohio on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Matt Collins officiating. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
Powhatan Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Full Military Honors on Sunday at 1:45 p.m.
