NELSON, Robert E. “Ozzie,” age 90, of Glen Dale died Monday.
Visitation Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
NELSON, Robert E. “Ozzie,” 90, of Glen Dale, WV, died Monday, May 20, 2013 at home.
He was born March 8, 1923 in Moundsville, WV, the son of the late Wilford F. and Jessie L. DeNoon Nelson.
He was retired from the Moundsville Post Office; a member of BPO Elks #282, Loyal Order of Moose #108, F.O. Eagles #499, Earl Francis Post #3 American Legion, VFW Post #437, 40 and 8, all of Moundsville, the Moundsville Country Club, Military Order of the Purple Heart, U.S. Golf Association, Military Order of the Ardennes, Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, D.A.V; 75th Division Veteran’s Assoc., and Assoc. “Rhine & Danube.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ann Hughes Nelson; four brothers, Carl, Paul, Wiley and Wilford Nelson; three sisters, Iris Otte, Sara Bumgardner, and Gladys Fish; and a son-in-law, Rod Berry.
Survivors include three daughters, Rita Berry of Glen Dale, Sheila (Ronald) Hensley of Wheeling, and Paula (Justin) Knight of Glen Dale; two sisters, Hilda Kittle, and Ruth (Bill) Hooker, all of Moundsville; and two grandchildren, Zachary T. Berry of Glen Dale, and Amanda Yinger of Waveland, MS.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville with the Moundsville Honor Guard conducting military graveside services.
