Derek Midcap

MIDCAP, Derek Wayne, 32, of Cameron, WV, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013.

He was born December 22, 1980 in Glen Dale, WV, the beloved son of Leslie and Virginia Harrington Midcap.

Derek was an employee of Mansuetto Roofing & Sheet Metal of Martins Ferry, OH and a 1999 graduate of Cameron High School.

Derek loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting, riding on four-wheelers and dirt bikes. He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR, loggers, and any show having to do with autos. Derek was a natural born mechanic. He was a good father, who loved to spend time with his family and take his son four- wheeling.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Harrington and a grandmother, Florence Moore.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Genea Thain Midcap; four children, Robert and Ashely Doak and Derek B. and Kayla Midcap, all of Cameron; his grandmother, Betty Crow of Alliance, OH; three brothers, Leslie (Traci) Midcap of Bridgeport, OH, Brandon (Teresa) Midcap and Cody (Heather) Midcap, both of Cameron; three nieces, Sadie Proctor and Bailey Midcap of Cameron and Halay Hans of Bridgeport, OH; four nephews, Cody Jaden and Brandon Allen of Cameron, Dillion and Cayden Hans of Bridgeport, and one on the way; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received from noon until time of memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby- Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, with Rev. Debra Dague officiating.
