Larry Yoho

YOHO, Larry Wayne, age 71, passed away on June 20, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 10, 1942 in Wetzel County to the late Mark Wayne and Virginia Ruth Hudkins Yoho.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Holly Lynn Yoho and Patricia Beulah Yoho; and one grandson Alex Wayne Postlethwait.

He was a 1959 graduate of Moundsville High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam War. He was a Rural Letter Carrier for Proctor Post Office for 14 years and retired as Postmaster for Proctor Post Office after 17 years.

He was member of American Legion Post #28 for 47 years and was Past Post Commander and Past Post Adjutant. He was a member of New Martinsville Lions Club for 31 years and Past District Governor 1991-1992, Past Council Chairman for WV Lions Club and President of WV Lions Club Sight Foundation.

He served as Wetzel County Commissioner for six years, was on Wetzel County Hospital Board of Directors, on Public Defenders Committee, he was Treasurer for Grandview/ Doolin Water Board, was past President for New Martinsville Senior Citizens and served as Treasurer for New Martinsville Senior Citizens.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #39, Nemesis Shriners of Parkersburg, Grand Chapter Sistersville #27, Tri-County Shrine Club, Ohio Valley Shrine Club, Loyal Order of the Moose in New Martinsville, The National Association of Postmasters, he was a Senior Counselor for Mountaineer Boys State for 25 years and worked with the Band Patrons at Magnolia High School for eight years.

He worked with Legion Baseball for eight years at Marne Post #28 of New Martinsville. His family had hosted nine exchange students in their home. He enjoyed his gardening, raising his chickens, being in the woods looking for ginseng and yellow root. His most favorite pastime was spending his time with his children and grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy.

Surviving are: devoted and loving wife of 40 years Mary Rose Estep Yoho; son, Larry Wayne Yoho II (Cheryl) and daughter April Rose Postlethwait (Donnie) all of Proctor; four grandchildren, Bradley Wayne Yoho, Isabella Rose Yoho, Marshall Allan Postlethwait and Tucker Wayne Postlethwait; two brothers, Colin Robert Yoho (Norma) of Missouri and Mark Eugene Yoho (Mary) of Proctor; two aunts, Janice Haudenschilt (Bernard) and Donna Yoho all of Proctor; many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27 from 10 a.m. – noon and 2-4 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where Memorial Services will be at 4 p.m. with Rev. LeMoyne Horner and Rev. John P. McDonough, Pastor officiating.

Sistersville VFW combined Honor Guard will conduct military services.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
