KNIGHT, Alice J., 94, of Moundsville died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 5, 2013 in Moundview Health Care Center.
She was born October 16, 1918, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Francis Nuzum Moundsville.
A Christian by faith, Alice was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Moundsville for more than 50 years. She was a life member and past Worthy Matron of Moundsville OES Chapter 86 and a long-time volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert L. Knight of Moundsville, two sisters, Mary Warsinsky and Margaret Bungard both of Moundsville, a brother, Richard Nuzum of Bethlehem, WV, two nieces, a nephew and a great-niece.
Surviving are a daughter, Roberta A. Knight of Wheeling, WV; a son, John Richard Knight of Nashville, TN; a sister-in-law, Elsie Nuzum of Bethlehem, WV; a special niece, Margaret A. Bungard of Moundsville; a nephew, John Bungard of Harrisonburg, VA; special friends, Judy Tredway of Wheeling, WV and Florian Ceglarek of Nashville, TN; and several other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Grisell Funeral Home, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville on Thursday, at 11 a.m. officiated by the Reverend Tim Wilt, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Moundsville.
Following the service, a light luncheon provided by the Presbyterian women will be served at said Church which is located just east of Jefferson Avenue on Third Street.
