Catherine Butler

BUTLER, Catherine “Jeannette” Moore, 89, a life long resident of Wheeling, WV, died Friday, July 12, 2013, in The Arbors in Bedford NH .

She was born July 16, 1923, in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Paul Gilbert, Sr., and Catherine Elizabeth Hoblitzell Moore.

Mrs. Butler was a long time active member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wheeling and a member of the Big Wheeling Creek Homemaker Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Pershing Butler in December of 2010; two brothers, Paul G. Moore, Jr., and Elmore “Moe” R. Moore; and a sister, Rena Mae Hupp.

Surviving are a son, Ronald P. Butler and his wife, Kathleen of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Melissa A. Carlisle and her husband, William of Londonderry, NH; four granddaughters, Tammy M. Winningham, Teresa “Tracy” Machakos, Jenna C. Wood and Gretchen E. Hayes;10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 12-3 and 5-7 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, 141 Kruger St., Wheeling at 11 a.m. with the Reverend R. Paul Schafer officiating. Interment in Stone Church Cemetery, Wheeling.
