DAVIS, Elizabeth V. “Bettie,” 88, of Wheeling died Monday, August 12 in Wheeling Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born August 20, 1924, in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of the late Max and Mary Nolan Barrickman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1995 by her husband of 52 years, Richard E. “Dick” Davis; by a son, James R. “Jim” Davis in 2009; and two sisters, Maxine Subrick and Margaret Jean Romito.
She is survived by one son, Jeffery Davis and his wife, Patti of Wheeling; her daughter, Jill Costanzo and husband Tom of Scottsdale, AZ. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Kim Gantzer and husband Bob of Dublin, OH; Joe Subrick and wife Lisa of New Cumberland, WV; and a very special great-niece, Lindsay Gantzer of Dublin, OH.
She was a former member of the Junior Board of the Florence Crittenton Home, the Ladies Auxiliary of the International Order of Blue Goose, and a volunteer of Meals on Wheels in Wheeling. She was a former employee of The Clothes Tree.
Bettie was a wonderful, joyful person who was loved and will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
Friends will be received Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd., Wheeling (304-232-2732). A service will be held at the convenience of the family.
