AMADIO, Henry Joseph, 89, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, at his home.
He was born January 18, 1924 in Steinersville, Ohio, a son of the late Fabio and Maria Gianangeli Amadio.
Henry was a River Tipple operator for the former North American Coal Corporation’s Number 1 Mine in Powhatan Point, Ohio; a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Shadyside, Ohio and a member of the American Legion Post 521 in Shadyside, Ohio. He was a US Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary DeFelice Amadio on April 5, 1999, his sister, Emma Kemp and his brother, Victor Amadio.
Surviving are his children, Carolyn Marie Amadio of Bellaire, Ohio and Philip Henry (Julie) Amadio of Northwood, Ohio. Also several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauk necht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Thursday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. followed by Funeral liturgy with Mass to be celebrated at noon at the St. Mary Catholic Church Shadyside, Ohio with Fr. Samuel R. Saprano as Celebrant. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio with Full Military Honors conducted by the Powhatan Veterans Honor Guard.
