John Williamson

WILLIAMSON, John Rae, 79, of Hannibal, OH, died Monday, August 26, 2013, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

John was born November 5, 1933 in Sardis, OH son of the late Lewis and Emma Merckle Williamson.

He was a retired truck driver for Conalco, former employee of PPG, graduate of Sardis High School Class of 1952, U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, member of the Democratic Party, member Hannibal American Legion Post 760, member of the Conalco Retirees Group and member of Zion United Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lila Williamson (2010) and a nephew, Mike Williamson.

Surviving are his three children, Cheri (Bob) Bovell of Woodbury Heights, NJ, Jeffrey (Valerie) Williamson of Clarington, OH and Lori (Scott) Greening of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Lewis (Wanda) Williamson of Sardis, OH; two sisters, Carol (Ken) Beaver of Sardis, OH and Marilyn (Larry) Boyer of Dundas, OH; three grandchildren, Rachel Mowder, Andy Williamson and Ben Greening; a step-granddaughter, Chelsea Lowe and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 5-8 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV.

Memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the Zion United Church of Christ with Pastor Terry Pringle officiating.

Interment in Zion Memorial Garden where John and Lila will be re-united at the convenience of the family.
