BLATTNER, Louis Leroy, 75, of Wheeling died on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at his home.
He was born January 22, 1938, in Wheeling the son of the late William and Wanda Waters Blattner and was a Protestant by faith.
Louis was a retired owner of Blattner Truss in McMechen, WV, and retired owner of Blattner Contracting. He was a member of the Cave Club and Iola Club in Wheeling and loved to hunt, fish and be a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Blattner and William Kratz; his sisters, Jean Daily and Stella Armstrong; his daughter-in-law, Nita Blattner; his half-sisters, Gladys Stomatos, Laverne Scherer, Betty Martin, Gertrude, Kathryn and Rosemary; and a half-brother, Harry Waters.
Surviving are his beautiful wife of 55 years, Mary Ann Payton Blattner; three children, Kelly Anastasia of McMechen, WV, Louis Scott “Butch” Blattner and his girlfriend, Christine of Wheeling, and Julie Mugrage and her husband, Brian of Columbus, OH; a brother, Jack Blattner of Florida; three sisters, Nora Hoyt and her husband, Ralph of Moundsville, WV, Patty Gilbert and her husband, Don of Beech Bottom, WV and Marge Burch of Warwood, WV; a half-sister, JoAnn Moore of Triadelphia, WV; three grandchildren, Chad Howell of McMechen, WV, Nick Anastasia of McMechen, WV and Brandon Mugrage of Columbus, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304 242-2311,) where services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Tom R. Renfrow officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mt. Olivet, WV.
