Patrick Stanton

STANTON, Patrick Raymond, 78, of Flynn Avenue, Wheeling, died on Monday, August 19, 2013, in the Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling.

He was born August 14, 1935, in Wheeling, the son of the late Patrick V. and Margaret Miller Stanton.

Pat was a high school graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School in Wheeling and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling. He was an active member and current President of the Elm Grove Lions Club and a past President of the Ohio Valley Construction Employers Council having been very dedicated to both organizations. One of his favorite pastimes other than spending time with his family was having coffee with his buddies.

He was a well known painting contractor having retired as owner of the Stanton and Son Painting Company. He then went to work for Karras Painting Company as an estimator.

Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Lee Aaron Stanton; three children, Patrick K. Stanton and his wife, Laura of Wheeling, Lisa Stanton Taylor and her husband, Duwane of Bethlehem, WV, and Jeffrey A. Stanton and his wife, Carol of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Patrick V. Stanton, Brandon, Taylor, Zeke and Derek Taylor, Jessica Stanton and Jeffrey Bowers; and a great-grandson, Jackson Bom.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling (304 232-2732). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling with the Reverend Thomas Gallagher and the Reverend Tony Lacson as con celebrants. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Wake services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 6:30 p.m.
