GRIMM, Robert L., of Wheeling, WV passed away on July 31, 2013 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling.
He was born on March 21, 1927 in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of the late George and Hilda Spanos. He was a member of the St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church.
Mr. Grimm was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel , Martins Ferry Plant. Prior to employment at the steel mill, he was a projectionist at the local movie theaters in Wheeling, including the Rex, Colonial and Liberty. Moreover, he was also a stage hand for the Capitol Music Hall.
Robert had a great sense of humor, enjoyed reading the newspaper, crossword puzzles, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Well supplied with Dr. Pepper, you would be sure to have a cold beverage when visiting with him!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Helen Pappas Grimm in 2012.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Kimberley A. Grimm of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with Trisagion services at 6:30 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311), where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 with Father Eugen Rosu officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
The Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services.
