Shirley Palmer

PALMER, Shirley Ann, 77, of Wheeling died Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born August 26, 1935, in Wheeling, daughter of the late Robert and Edith Gheen Jackson.

Shirley was a homemaker, former member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and a volunteer at Catholic Charities and the Health Right of Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Palmer, Jr., on July 7, 1994.

Surviving are her children, Robert F. (Sandy Thames) Palmer III, Christine (Randy) Wharton, Mary Ann (Vince) Gioia, Lisa Monet (Mark) Bauer, all of Wheeling, nine grandchildren; Amanda, Kaitlyn, Antonio, Lauren, Anthony, Alex, Carson, Vincent and Tricia and a great-grandchild, Guiliana.

There will be no visitation.

Friends and family are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Schuelkens as celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Catholic Charities or Valley Hospice.
