James Baker

BAKER, James F. “J-Hobo” “Jim,” 74, of Shiloh, WV, formerly of Paden City, WV, died suddenly Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Sistersville General Hospital.

“Jim” was born June 16, 1939, in Paden City, WV, son of the late Creel King Baker and Margaret Beatrice Weekley Baker.

He was a retired electrician for Corning Glass, graduate of Paden City High School Class of 1957 who supported his alumni, former Paramedic for Middlebourne and Paden City Ambulances, member of Paden City Jaycees, member of the Clown Around Club, he performed as a clown at several events, was a stamp collector, loved hunting, fishing, hiking, feeding humming birds, loved to watch his grandchildren play sports, an avid reader and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, James (Mary) Baker II and Jon (Penny) Baker both of Paden City, WV; daughter, Dee Dee (Joe) Chamberlin of Marietta, Ohio; sister, Marilee (Gordon) Weimer of Paden City, WV; six grandchildren, Robbie and Austin Wilkinson, James and Jordan Baker and Bradley and Joey Baker; two aunts, Wanda Lee (Sam) Price of Elkins, WV and Sarah Mowery of Paden City, WV.

Friends received 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City with Pastor Judy Vetter and Kent Price co-officiating.

Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Sistersville, WV.
